Off Again..!

JKA Victoria karateka working on their kata
I'm on my way back to Melbourne in the morning to take part in the annual JKA Victoria spring gasshuku. Since its inception in 2011, I have been very happy to accept the invitation of my friend,Walter Stark sensei, to be a guest instructor.

Of course, it would be just plain silly to go all that way and just teach, so I also join in on every class over the three days of training. I'm not very good at goju-ryu, and let's not even talk about my efforts with shotokan; still, I'm in the company of some very talented karateka as well as some very knowledgeable sensei, so as far as I'm concerned, it's all good!

I'll let you know how the training was when I get back, and continue with my adventures in Okinawa. In the meantime, you might want to re-read my post on "Difficult Research", and ask yourself when was the last time you stepped out of your comfort bubble?
