Walking through your own Landscape

A Street in Tsuboya - Okinawa
I've been dealing with a few Real Estate agents recently, and I've been fascinated by the way they manipulate a conversation in order to get the result they are looking for. Like skilled politicians, regardless of what questions are asked, they give the answer they want their (perhaps unsuspecting) client to hear. It really is quite shameful.

But realty-agents and politicians are not the only folks who behave this way, I've watched karate instructors do this kind of thing for years. It is apparent, to me at least, that many of those teaching today have yet to master their karate skills to the same extent as their skills of manipulation. And yes...this too, is shameful.

You own your life, you own your karate too, you should be walking through a landscape of your own design, not one provided for you by someone else. You should be surrounded by people and events that help you grow and bring you joy. Karate asks you to be disciplined with your self, not obedient of others.

Here are a few pointers to building your own landscape: don't be lazy, be honest with yourself, stay humble, live within your means, and the big one......stop wanting everything!
